Priorities for the next term.

Vision is only credible when it arrives with proof. Each priority below is a forward-looking goal, paired with what Christine has already delivered on that same issue.

Good Jobs and Schools

Pipelines to good-paying jobs start in our schools.

I helped secure historic school funding via the Student Opportunity Act, early childcare, and debt-free higher education investments. I'll fight to secure funds for universal pre-K and vocational-technical education that will create pipelines to good paying jobs. We need to invest in technical assistance, education, and access to capital for small businesses.

Already deliveredHelped secure the Student Opportunity Act, the largest K-12 funding boost in a generation, plus early childcare and debt-free higher education investments.

Homes for Families and Seniors

No one should be forced out of the city they love.

Both long-time and newer residents are being forced out of the cities they love. I support rent control as an important tool, as well as a tenant opportunity to purchase and condo protections. We also need to focus on supporting first-time homebuyers, ensuring seniors can downsize without being displaced, and constructing reasonably-priced housing for renters and buyers.

Already deliveredPassed the Accessory Dwelling Unit law so families can add in-law units, and the MBTA Communities Act to build homes near transit.

Transportation and Climate Resilience

Reliable transit is climate policy and economic policy.

World-class, reliable, and fare-free public transportation is key to our quality of life and economy. I've championed the Green Line Extension, electrification, and fare-free buses. As Chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Committee, I'm working to pass a $3 billion bond bill to invest in climate resilience, flood control, parks and public lands, and clean water initiatives, including CSO remediation.

Already deliveredSecured $5M toward GLX Phase II and the East Somerville T-stop path, and chairs the committee moving the $3B MassReady climate bond.

Public Health and Safety

Protect care, protect rights, protect neighbors.

I stopped damaging MassHealth cuts and defended reproductive rights. I passed laws ending copays for insulin and inhalers, protecting rights for people with disabilities and expanding access to contraception. I'm leading the fight to ban city and state cooperation with ICE and will always protect immigrant neighbors. We must focus on mental health and substance use services while ensuring community safety.

Already deliveredEnded insulin and inhaler copays, expanded contraception access, and authored the 287(g) ban now passed by both chambers.

For our older neighbors

Lower prescription costs, home care that pays, and the option to downsize without leaving the block you raised your family on.

Christine ended insulin and inhaler copays, raised pay for home care workers, and is fighting for senior-friendly housing. The work is concrete, and it is already underway.

A vision is a promise. Christine keeps hers.
